Kinja'd!!!

We all know that a person's car choice will often reflect on their personality. How about we try to do it the other way? I'll give you a description of a person and you'll try to come up with a perfect car for them.

You may post cars that are reasonably within reach for the described person, or ones that aren't but seem like they would completely suit them (although I'd prefer you stick to the former choice). Also, try to stick to mass produced cars. I know that hot rods are cool, but I'd rather you keep it within reason.

Let's get on with it.

Person 1:

A man in his mid 40's, a physical worker, 6'0" tall, short hair, slightly balding, rugged looks. He has a teenage kid and a wife who makes pretty good money. He's generally very calm, relaxed, friendly and helpful. He can literally fix everything and is a master of DIY. Whenever he's not working he's fixing or building something. Likes to spend time actively. A very experienced driver, he's driven everything from small cars to big rigs. He needs something he can daily drive and haul all his equimpent with.

Person 2:

A guy in his early 20's, works as an IT guy in a big company, 6'3" tall, short to medium brown hair. He lives with his parents and sister in a small town, doesn't have a steady girlfriend. He's a rather calm and apathetic person, but "wakes up" when he's driving. He's very much into cars and enjoys going on random drives; can drive a manual too. In his free time he's either out drinking with friends or in front of his pc. He needs something he can commute to work in (about 20 motorway miles each way), but also something he can enjoy while going on a drive. Appreciates a good balance of comfort and performance.

1.) F150/3500/Silverado with no stupid modifications because it's a utility vehicle not a bro truck.

2.) Toyobaru BRZ/FRS.

Person 1:

Bronco. Easy to work on, good for driving off-road so he can spend his time actively in the wilderness, and tough with plenty of room for his stuff.

Person 2:

MkIII/A70 Supra Turbo
Cheap, comfortable and reliable (with new head gaskets) grand tourer , but a fun car for spirited driving with new shocks, springs, and added chassis stiffness.

Ha! I've been thinking about this actually, I was planning to do a If Cars Were post and equate them to Axis II Personality disorders.

Lets see, Person 1. He sounds very logical, not likely one to get overly excited about "the newest in car gizmo's". He's got access to money, but it doesn't sound like he would spend frivolously. He's driven a big rig so he's likely comfortable (and might prefer) manual transmissions. Hmmm, I think A 1970's longbox Chevy pick-up. Tons of parts available for him to fix anything that might go wrong with it.

Kinja'd!!!

Classically good looking, likely to run for years with the right TLC, long box for all the gear he'll need to take with him.

Person 2. IT guy, so he is going to probably transport equipment. 6'3" makes it a bit tougher, he's going to need some space. I would say the Focus ST, but if he's an IT guy and spends a lot of time on his PC (I'm assuming he builds his own PC's as well) he probably would hate the MyFord Touch. So I'm thinking he's more of an Audi S4 AWD V8 Wagon with a 6 speed manual kinda guy. He lives at home so he'll have the disposable income to fix it when it breaks down. He'll get the performance and the comfort. It'll fit him, and he'll have the space to transport the servers and other IT goodies from job to job.

By V Wagon do you mean a Volvo or a Cadillac CTS-V?

1) obvious F-150 driver
2) maybe a Nissan Maxima or a VW GTI

I like your ideas. If you enjoy this sort of thing feel free to post in earlier editions of this "game". :]

See I was thinking he lives at home so maybe he wouldn't want to spend as much money so that he could save up to rectify that.

1.

Kinja'd!!!

Dodge D-Series pickup, with a bunch of custom DIY racks and stuff. Being the hands-on guy he is, he knows that a car doesn't have to look fast to be fast. He will have no problem replacing all of the rust these cars accumulate (the biggest problem with them) because he is used to fabrication anyway. Best of all, under that hood is a 383 400, or 440, but you can assure he's put some good bolt-on parts to that block and has at least 300-400HP.

2.

I'm really tempted to say 1973 Chevrolet Malibu (Props to those who get it) but given that he doesn't seem mechanically inclined (despite liking cars) I'm going to go with S14.

Kinja'd!!!

If he's making really good money at this company, maybe he has a newer (2008+) Mustang.

Idk I like the VW Golf for him for some reason. But part of me feels he would gravitate towards the 3 series.

Hmm, he could. It would certainly fit him. A 335 would give him the performance and comfort he's after. But I've talked to a few owners and the maintenance on them can be very expensive (worse that the S4 perhaps?).

Would the Golf be too small for him and his IT gear? The GTI would also fit the performance/comfort needs.

1: Ram 1500

Kinja'd!!!

The wife's extra money goes towards the good options on his truck, so he can avoid the base model. Its the more stylish truck (over the Silverado and F-150 IMO)

2: A older VW GTI

Kinja'd!!!

Still very fun to drive, can be had with a manual, and very nice to drive.

Person 1: He'd have a 2014 Toyota tundra, because he knows they are American made, reliable, strong trucks

Kinja'd!!!

Specifically, He'd have a low end SR5 model crew cab, with the 5.7L V8, and the TRD off road package
Person 2: This guy is a typical Honda Si driver IMO. Not overly social, and not too show offy. just like the car. But at one point, it becomes a bit meaner, also known as V-tec!

Kinja'd!!!

Speciffically, he'd have a red or blue sedan model, with the sunroof and Satnav!
Since he got it used, it could also have some black Advan wheels, a Cat-Back exaust system, and a short shift kit.

1. A Toyota 4runner, because he'll appreciate the quality and space, as well as the general comfort and affordability. The teenage kid will also allowed to drive it because it's a decent size and not very hoon-friendly.

2. A GTI. Because I have one and parts of that description sounded like me
